Meet the Governing Board

Kristi Anderson

NPA Board Chairwoman

In 2005, my husband and I were looking for a different school for my son, who was about to enter second grade. We heard about a new charter school being built in our neighborhood and knew we wanted to be part of it. My husband and I applied to join the Initiating Committee and were selected to serve.

We donated hundreds of hours to help get the school up and running and have been involved ever since. I was the first FASSTeam chair, helping organize parent volunteers into committees. I served in that role for two years before applying for an open position on the board. I was selected and have served as a board member since 2007.

I have loved watching the school grow and develop from the ground up. My husband and I have four children who have attended Navigator Pointe Academy and benefited from the education it provides.

I graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree. I am a licensed title officer at Meridian Title Company, where I have worked for 28 years. When I am not working, I enjoy reading, playing games with my family, and camping.

Fernando Cruz

NPA Board Member

Fernando Cruz is married to Heila Cruz, his high school sweetheart since 1998. They have four sons, all of whom have attended Navigator Pointe Academy.

Fernando’s passion for the way NPA is administered and led, along with the school’s impact on its community, inspired him to serve on the governing board. He has served on the NPA Governing Board since July 2020.

Fernando co-founded Dynamond Building Services in 2006 and Dynamond Concrete Polishing in 2017. He became part of System 1 in 2016, helping provide employment for more than 1,500 employees across 21 states. Fernando has served on the Board of Directors for the Utah Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and currently serves on the BSCAI and System 1 boards of directors, as well as the Navigator Pointe Academy Governing Board.

Fernando earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and an MBA from the Arizona State University Thunderbird School of Global Management with a concentration in global management. He is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Of all the accomplishments, positions, and titles Fernando has earned, the most important to him are ‘Dad’ and ‘Husband.’ His proudest accomplishment is the family that he and Heila share.
